Thanksgiving Health Tips

Believe it or not, Thanksgiving (and then ultimately the end of the semester) is right around the corner. For me, Thanksgiving is the kick off to the holiday season. It gets you in that festive mood and it brings way to the Winter season. For me, Thanksgiving is me second favorite holiday behind Christmas. I just love the whole thing about the holiday. You have Christmas songs starting to play on B101, there are football games all day long (which is a nice change to the Sunday routine), family and friends coming over, and yes- food! Massive amounts of homade homecooked food. I am more guilty than any when it comes to the norious over eating on Thanksgiving. My day usually starts will a few devil eggs and ends with apple pie and icecream (with some turkey and stuffing thrown in there). It is no wonder, to me atleast, that the holidays are a dieter's nightmare. You like to think you have self control, but when there's 10 different appetizers and 15 different kinds of desserts self control goes out the window. With that said, there are some "tips" I found online that may help you achieve a "Thinner Thanksgiving". Here are just a few of the tips. Its worth a shot to try them out:

Get Active- Create a calorie deficit by eating less and exercising more before the holiday rush

Eat Breakfast- By having a small but filling meal in the morning helps control your appetite

Police your portions- This is by far the hardest of the bunch, but try it any way. When eating, go for the foods you normally don't have all year around.

If this is a blog that interests you or is something that you can relate to, you can check out the full story with all the tips at :  Thinner Thanksgiving

I hope you all enjoy the mini vacation before finals and if you don't want to fill yourself like a hibernating bear at thanksgiving dinner, try a few of these tips. I know I will!
